Recent snow and temperature data are available from Quaking Aspen a few miles up the Great Western Divide Highway from Camp Nelson. Temperature data are available from the Hossack site near Camp Nelson. Both of these sites are at higher elevations than Camp Nelson Lodge, so the Lodge is usually warmer and has less snow than these sites.
Hundreds of miles of trails are available near the lodge. Here are a few examples. Maps and directions are available at the lodge.
Horseback riding is available at the packing station a few miles up the hill from the lodge.
Good fishing can be found near the lodge in Nelson Creek and at Coy Flats, or find your own hidden fishing holes.
